Creating Magic Through Art
Welcome to Seamrog Iris website, a creative hub for all things art and nature. "Seamrog," is derived from the Gaelic word for "clover".
I am a passionate artist, dedicated to showcasing the beauty and wonder of the natural world through visual art, videos, and written pieces. My work is influenced by my deep love and appreciation for ecology, herbs, and fairies, and I aim to ignite a sense of curiosity and connection with the environment through my creations.
I also offer educational resources and workshops to inspire others to appreciate and protect our planet.
The Garden of Seamrog
In a context of environmental crisis, spiritual disconnection, and informational saturation, the need for new sensitive and symbolic narratives that restore the relationship between humans and the Earth emerges. Seamrog, as an alter ego created through artistic practice, functions as a poetic and transdisciplinary bridge between art, ecology, and spirituality.
"The Garden of Seamrog" is a multidisciplinary project in which creativity is harnessed to raise awareness about the rights of the Earth. In this context, art can serve as a path to reconciliation: a poetic, symbolic, and experiential language capable of restoring the sacred bond between human life and the Earth.
The creator of this work is Seamrog Iris Slievenamon, an artistic alter ego of Ra'al Ki Victorieux. She is a central figure in a research-creation project that integrates art, ecology, and spirituality. Seamrog embodies a form of poetic resistance and an aesthetic proposal for the symbolic and material healing of the planet. Through her artwork -visual, performative, and editorial- narratives develop that seek to activate ecological consciousness through emotion, beauty, imagination, and ancestral memory.
We live in an era of systemic crisis: environmental, symbolic, spiritual, and communal. The disconnection between humans and nature manifests not only in the ecological deterioration of the planet but also in the inner fragmentation of the contemporary subject.
This work aligns with the line of artists and thinkers who have used art as a tool for spiritual, ecological, and political transformation. Seamrog is not only an art-performative character but also a platform for symbolic action and a mediating figure between worlds: the visible and the invisible, the real and the imagined, the personal and the collective. Her proposal unfolds as a transdisciplinary project where performance, writing, video art, herbalism, autoethnography, technology, and symbolic research converge.
Atma Unum Fonds, Serie 1 Alter Ego, File 3: Seamrog / AUS1F3
Author: Ra'al Ki Victorieux. Date: From the 1990s to the present. Location: México.
Seamrog Iris Slievenamon constitutes a performative alter ego of Ra'al Ki Victorieux, created created at the end of the 20th century to provide identity to her ecological, creative, and activist actions. Her journey is part of the Atma Unum Fonds, a project dedicated to the artist's work. File 3 is one of nine documentary files, complemented by various collections, which together comprise the complete fonds.
At the beginning of the 21st century, the main ecological and sustainability challenges included the increase in greenhouse gas emissions, the deterioration of ecosystems, the loss of biodiversity, and the scarcity of natural resources. These issues required an urgent adoption of sustainable policies, innovation in renewable energy sources, and a shift in consumption and production patterns to ensure environmental protection and the well-being of future generations.
In this context, Seamrog adopts a stance of commitment to Mother Earth, initiating her investigation, plus visits and visual documentation of their travels to natural reserves. Additionally, she publishes articles advocating for recycling, herbalism, the integration of spirituality with environmental consciousness, and creativity. Furthermore, she explores the development of a distinctive aesthetic to unify their messages, presenting them through narratives and utilizing emerging media to expand their reach and impact.
