Eco-Artivism at The Garden of Seamrog
Welcome my picture-binnacle. The focus is on visual art, video, and writing. I also incorporate elements of ecology, herbs, and fairies. I believe in the power of art to inspire, educate, and connect with nature.
Tacaná Wings
Protecting the Butterflies of Tacaná Volcano
These images highlight the fragile beauty of local butterflies, once threatened by farmers who mistook them for pests. Thanks to biologists and ecologists, they're now safeguarded. Since 2006, UNESCO has protected the Tacaná Volcano Natural Reserve in Chiapas—a shared global heritage. 🌿 If you visit, please respect the land: carry out any trash you find.
Special thanks to Alberto Pacheco and Adrenalina Extrema for their dedication to nature. #Conservation #Tacaná #ProtectOurPlanet

A Celtic-Kissed Visual Ode to Earth's Magic
🌳🍃"Green Wishes" unfolds like a whispered incantation—a series of eco-activism images where Seamrog Iris, crowned in wild roses and accompanied by a golden-hatted friend, becomes a living bridge between whimsy and wilderness. Her white cat Bella blinks knowingly from between Celtic-knotted frames, while a slow-moving turtle carries the weight of ancient wisdom on its shell. Each photograph is a spell cast in light and leaf, bordered by interlacing vines that mirror the sacred manuscripts of old. The handwritten 'Green Wishes' that dance across these frames are not mere captions, but small urgent prayers: plant me, water me, let me grow. It begins with the simple act of pushing an acorn into soft earth, this gallery—where every rose-tangled portrait and creature-glimpsed moment fans out like the branches of the very trees it begs us to sow. 🐢🌹✨
Fairy for Cannabis Awareness
Seamrog Iris is an eco-artivist whose creative protests blend art, ecology, and social change. This project was carried out over several years and has been presented through various artistic genres. For example: In 2006, she joined Mexico's Million March for cannabis legalization, designing a powerful logo merging the cannabis leaf with the peace symbol. She and her volunteers wore green-painted tunics, earning them the name "The Green Monks," while Seamrog herself embodied the spirit of the movement as a "Green Fairy." Through bold visuals and theatrical activism, her work advocates for a greener, more peaceful world—where art and action grow together.
